Winter landscaping ideas
Just because it is winter that doesn’t mean that you can’t take care of and improve your garden with some landscaping winter projects. Some say it is actually a good idea to plan your landscaping projects during winter, because you are not using the space as much and you can undertake big projects which won’t be an inconvenience.
So what can you actually do to improve your garden space during winter?
- Build fire pits and outdoor fireplaces which will lead to a lot of fun times during spring season.
- Install a new pool deck – since you are not using the pool during winter you can install a new pool deck so that your space will look amazing when summer comes.
- Create an outdoor kitchen space which will make your cooking experience so much enjoyable during spring and summer.
You do however need to take care of the landscape you currently have as well. You can do that by pruning your plants (cut back perennials that are done blooming for the season as well as summer growth from evergreen shrubs) and preparing them for snow (tie a piece of string around it to keep the plant from splitting due to the weight of the snow).
If you can’t wait until spring to start working on your garden then you can imagine how you’re garden will look everyday by creating a miniature garden project which you can keep in your house. These projects are really nice and serve well as decorations around the house and garden as well.
Have a look at some of the projects below and let us know what you think.
